Winterize Your World Wednesday: Let's Get Heartwarming Published on February 09, 2016 On February 2nd, our favorite groundhog predicted an early spring – and, for that, we are very relieved! Honestly, Phil, thanks a ton! But no matter what the weather is like outside – whether furnace repair is needed because your system is working overtime, or you’ve already turned on the air conditioning a few afternoons – Valentine’s Day is coming, and there are friends and family that you’d like to recognize with a little something special. But remember, just because it’s special doesn’t mean it has to cost a lot! Our friends bloggers Ashley and Jamin Mills at The Handmade Home have gathered up 14 free printable Valentine’s, plus a couple examples of low-cost and no-cost gifts to accompany them. (Picture color-spiraled hearts made from melting broken crayons.) You can steal their suggestions here. (They’re fine with it!) We’ve decided one of their sweetest ideas is this recipe for beautiful stained glass heart cookies. They are wonderful to slip into the little ones’ lunch boxes, to share with the friends after school, to take to a gift exchange, or as a present for someone of any age – anyone who has a special place in your heart! You just need eight ingredients that you probably already have at home, plus two heart-shaped cookie cutters (one bigger, one smaller). The secret ingredient is Jolly Ranchers, either red or pink, crushed into little pieces. The best part - these unique cookies won’t take any more time to make than any regular, decorated sugar cookie.Find the recipe and step-by-step instructions here. Happy Valentine’s Day, and thank you for being part of the Service Experts family!
