Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry Published on August 20, 2016 The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was excited to contribute 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in the Texas city. “Last fall, I had the opportunity to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They do so much more than just collect food – they are a vital part of this community.” Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to recognize her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would obtain her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to utilize the food they are given to cook nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also give resume assistance along with financial and job classes to help families get back on their feet. Because around 50 pounds of food is given to each family to last them a month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month. “Everyone was so thrilled that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even showed our group their incredible facility,” Wilson said.
